China Grass-roots Governance Research Center

China Grassroots Governance Research Center ( hereinafter referred to "the Center" ) is a research institution jointly established by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics(SWUFE). The Center was formally established on December 4, 2018 and formerly known as the Grassroots Governance Research Group which was established in 2014 and conducted the first Survey on Urban and Rural Community Governance in China in 2015. The Center aims to survey and research the basic information of the China towns and communities, basic public services, and community economy, policy, society, community organizations, environmental health, social security, education, culture and the basic rule of law, etc., and further analysis the mutual influence between communities and residents, explore the status of grassroots community governance , provide policy Suggestions for the development of grassroots community,further perfect and develop the Chinese grassroots community governance theory, enrich the theory construction of grassroots governance with Chinese characteristics. The Center now has more than 10 full-time researchers, and the research outcomes have been published in dozens of papers in first-class journals at home and abroad. The research report has been approved and instructed by the vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, state councilor, minister and vice minister of Ministry of Civil Affairs, member of standing committee of Sichuan Provincial Committee, deputy director of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, vice chairman of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC National Committee,etc.
