Overview

China’s Ministry of Education and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs jointly released the Notice on Newly Approved Bases of Higher Education Discipline Innovation and Talents Introduction Project (education and technology letter [2015] 58) on 27th November, 2016. There were 47 innovation bases approved in 2016, with 45 natural science programs and 2 social science programs. This was the first time that the 111 Project incorporated social science disciplines and the China Household Finance Survey Innovation Base applied by us has been one of the two approved social science bases.

The 111 Project aspires to speed up the construction of world-class universities of China’s leading higher learning bodies. It has been jointly implemented since 2006 by the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs P.R.China, which focuses on the world’s frontier disciplines and is based on key national disciplinary areas. It will invite over 1,000 overseas talents from the top 100 universities and research institutes worldwide to form top-level research teams, and establish around 100 world-class discipline innovation centers based in China’s higher education institutions. The construction of an innovation center lasts for 5 years with a funding of not less than 1,800,000 yuan per year.

We will foster further development of frontier disciplines, conduct research missions, integrate brain gain with course innovation, and fully apply talent advantages, making the Survey and Research Center for China Household Finance a world-class academic and policy research institute.
